So I have always been in social services-social constructionist-all that. I left social services last year and took a job in management in a medical center. I put my 6 week notice in-one year of management-I am going back to poor living-loving life. I have an interview Monday-wish me luck.

Luck! Lately I've been daydreaming about how nice it would be to be making some bank, but then they turn into nightmares when I think about corporate hierarchy. Hope you can find a jobby that is both fulfilling and sustains your life.

Yep-I loved the work I did before this job and I loved the population I served and the creativity and intrinsic value of making a difference. I also hate being a drone-so it is win-win. (except for the money part-heh)
I am almost 39 years old and I have an amazing girlfriend and a 6 year old boy that make me happier than I have ever been and I guess I thought that making more money was what was needed to make the family happy. I was wrong because I was just sucked right out of my life by this job. I worked 10 hours a day-9 on a good day-on call 24 -7-responsible for 40 + people-gack. I would rather make pot butter-but with that being a not so secure future-I am going back to helping my fellow man.

What's the job? Tell us about it?

I think pretty much any change that immediately seems to be creating so much joy must be a good step.

I am going back to working with adults with disabilities-in the employment aspect-starting another program like the one I started at the hospital I work at now. I love creating jobs and independance and changing the stigma of what people are capable of doing for and in our communities.
