Do you ever feel like you are just literally crazy? Like nuts-o ever?
I know that in "normal" society, everything is crazy, so when I start to feel utterly nuts, I just feel more normal than not. It's when I feel totally in control of myself and my actions and my sleep patterns, and everything, that I feel more crazy than ever. Does this make sense to anyone, or am I really a basket-case? (Oh dear, I am overanalyzing again)

Having normal patterns probably feels "crazy" because it isn't what you're accustomed to. "Crazy" gets comfortable. We gravitate towards comfort even when it isn't in our best interest. Also, change is frightening. New habits are difficult to adapt to. It takes time for them to feel normal.
Just a guess about what might be going on...

yeah, like in my head there are all these completely jumbled thoughts and I can't make sense of most of it. It kind of feels like it did when i was going through puberty, in a way. i don't like it at all! And, personally, I don't think I have ever gone through anything this stressful in my adult life. I am more stressed out and anxiety ridden lately than I was when my dad died (and I was very close to my dad---and it took years to actually deal with his death), but dealing with his death didn't even come close to the way i have been feeling lately. Also, I used to be able to feel numb a whole lot better than I am today. i almost want that numbing sensation back again.

my ever-present advice to someone who wants to be numb but not drunk...Apocalypse Now. Watch it a few times and pay attention to everything. Then you have a convenient "bottle of gin" to use whenever you need some numbing.

This. This is very true. I have a family member with a mental
illness. She has said to me many times her biggest struggle
is making herself want to not be crazy, because crazy is what
she knows how to be. Sane and stepping out into a functional
life scares her. That fear holds her back quite often and seems
to be her biggest challenge.
I'm unsure how to help her with this most of the time, but we all
continue to try.
