So Mount Everest has formed on my nose. Seriously, it is bad. I look disfigured. No amount of makeup is going to cover it.

I have my first guitar lesson tonight. I'd rather not meet my new teacher looking like Quasimodo. Frankly, I am considering canceling.

Any tricks on how to get the swelling to go down or otherwise cover it up? A band-aid? A burka?

I'm desperate.

For the swelling, try a hot compress to work all that nasty to the surface. Like, get a washcloth wet and nuke it for like 20 seconds, put it on your nose...repeat a few times...this should help with the swelling.

If you are experiencing a rudolph-like redness, a few drops of visine should get the red out.

Other than that, I got nothing.

You could always say you were smelling some flowers and a bee stung you.

Okay. I'll try it.

Still leaning towards the burka though.

This is humiliating.

Walgreen's should have Halloween masks on display, dear.

I use my pimples like a clock. as soon as a couple start to sprout, I know that in 3 days I'm gonna start my period.
I use Oxy pads to suck up the yucks, and in the shower I use St. Ives Apricot Scrub for acne prone skin. It usually does pretty good to get rid of everything.

Get one of these for next time:

I've got one and it seems to work, but it could just be the placebo effect.

It seems like my glasses are the problem! They are the big, chunky plastic frames that are so popular right now. But they seem to be irritating my skin. My most annoying breakouts are in spots where my glasses hit my face, such as my nose.

Not sure what to do. I would like to get new frames but the cute little wire frames won't hold my Coke bottle lenses.

I guess I'll start wearing my contacts as much as possible.
Thanks for all the tips! I have one to add. Clinique has an exfoliating scrub that is awesome. I think it is called the 7 Day Scrub. Anyone with sensitive skin should check it out. Most scrubs are too harsh for me, such as the apricot scrub wreck mentioned. I thought I'd never be able to use an exfoliating scrub until I was introduced to this product. I sound like a commercial but really, my skin is so sensitive.

Anyway...

I also get zits around the nose area because of my glasses. I find if you clean your glasses at least once a day it will help a lot. I just rinse them out in the sink with warm water & whatever soap you have around. I just use the liquid soap. It gets all the yucky oil off the plastic.

I do wash my glasses with my face soap and sometimes even with rubbing alcohol. I also have special cloths for cleaning glasses. I still get irritation.

I do as well. Just not as bad as I would if I didn't clean my glasses everyday. I have really oily skin & while there are advantages to that (my skin is not aging as fast as some) it's also prone to blemishes & stuff. Blah.

I need to have my glasses fitted again. Maybe that would help.

Or, again, just wear my contacts.

They get so expensive if I wear them all the time though.

or just keep the Gene Simmons make up on.

Excellent solution!

Gene Simmons would probably sue me for copyright infringement though.
