I work at a natural foods/medicines store and once every three months we do health screenings for customers. Anyways, we did health screenings in February and by the second week all the time slots were filled. A man came in and asked me what times the health screenings were and I told him we didn't have any time slots open. He still asked what times the health screenings were and I told him they started around 9-ish and ended at 3:30 in the afternoon and I told him again that all the time slots had been filled.

He told me he didn't believe me because we open at 10...I don't know if he was just trying to pick an argument..or what. He then asked me more questions about the tests we were running and I answered them. He then asked me what time slots were open. He was alittle flustered when I told him...again...that there were not any time slots open. I asked him if he wanted to talk to anyone else and he said no and just stood around at my cash register for a couple of minutes. I just casually told him I couldn't help him anymore, I provided him with the information he wanted to know and I couldn't do anymore for him.

THEN, he gets on his cellphone...and calls the store! All the customer service calls go to the register...which is where I work (since I'm a cashier). I didn't really know what to do so I just stared at the phone and the man is just staring at me...so I just picked up the phone and said "Hello?" and the guy rolled his eyes and walked out of the store. It was a really awkward situation.

We're doing health screenings again later this month and the same guy came in. He walked up to my register, glanced at my name tag, and said "No point in asking you," then went to the next register.
*sigh*
Prick.

Give him the address of the nearest mental hospital and tell him you're having special screenings there.

Slightly awkward.

You want to hear something insane? The nearest mental hospital is about three hours away from where I live, or I really would try that. Damn you West Texas and your spread out cities.

ah!
Midland- it's an awful, awful town.
Do you know where that is? I think it's just a couple hours down the interstate from Abilene. Midland and Odessa basically melt into one city.
Abilene-Midland hates them because they always beat our high school football teams, haha. There's a zoo there, right? =)
and a military base of some sort, i think. We used to go through there to get to Dallas.

HA. I shot a couple videos in Lubbock. Nice town. Smells like Texas money: oil and manure. Super nice people!

That story is awesome!

Is Midland anywhere near Ennis? I "did some time" there, so to speak, as a kid. Weird place...

I had to look up Ennis... it's south of the DFW area. Midland is about 2 hours south of Lubbock towards the panhandle side of the state.

I've heard of Ennis, but I had no idea where it was until I read the last post. heh.

That is all kinds of wrong. ;)

I have a soft spot for Buddy. He's been an influence. But I rip on everyone - especially the Indigo Girls (not a word, Nomz), so I know when to back down :p
