i saw veruca salt
and juliette and the licks
last nite... and these
guys opened for them...

i dug them.

i know, i'm easy... cute
girl in skimpy outfit...

but she rocked on the bass,
and electric violin... that's
what really did it for me.

(turns out she's smart too...)

you can stream several songs
at thelovemakers.com

anyone else seen/heard them?

oh and veruca salt was aaight
too.

and i was in the same room as
juliette lewis. rrrow.

she's effing crazy, all over
the stage, incredibly engergetic
performance... the band was
pretty tight... and juliette
stage dove twice at the end
of her set.

hot.

I had heard Juliette (we're on a first name basis, old friends you know...got her out of a tight spot once) was doing music now but haven't heard any of her songs. I'll have to go look some up!

I haven't heard the lovemakers either so I guess I'll have to go check them out too...busy, busy, busy...

OK FuR here is my feedback after just a little time
with each of these:

Holly McNarland - LOVE IT. Good grooves. Thanks.
Jane Jensen - good beats and variety, don't like the songs
with more techno stuff as much, but overall thumbs up
Juliette & The Licks - surprisingly I really liked this, I like
the sound of her voice and bet she'd be great in concert.
Lovemakers - not for me. Too much like 80's pop sound I think.
I'll give them a little more play time to see if my
opinion on them changes though.

Thanks again for the new tunes !

no prob images/smiley_icons/icon_smile.gif

yah, jane has quite a bit of
more electronic stuff interspersed,
and i like that a lot. .shrug.

and the lovemakers are pretty much
straight up 80s soundalike. but
smarter. maybe. images/smiley_icons/icon_smile.gif

check out the edie carey stuff i
dropped in if you haven't got any
of her stuff... she's an amazing
singer.songwriter

and if you like portishead grab
the girl nobody file.

garrison star is someone that's
growing on me... i got her stuff
from a friend rather than finding
a cd somewhere, so i'd probably
have listened to her quite a bit
more before i had an ipod where i
shuffle all the time instead of
listening to discs right through.

hmm. maybe i should fix that.

If you enjoy The Lovemakers you may also enjoy...Client.

They are described as a mixture of Kraftwerk and Joy Division. That's one heck of a mix!
