Does anyone else drink this stuff? It tastes like carbonated yogurt. It is strange. I saw it in the health food section of my grocery store yesterday and decided to give it a whirl.

I took it home and my first mistake was to not shake it up. Ewwww...

I am thinking my second mistake might have been drinking it.

It is supposed to be really good for you but I think it made my tummy hurt.

Here's a link on it: http://www.seedsofhealth.co.uk/fermenting/kefir.shtml (http://www.seedsofhealth.co.uk/fermenting/kefir.shtml)

I tried peach Kefir before and thought it was really weird. If I'd known it had that damn many healthful properties, I would have had more. Maybe I'll buy some again.

GOD DAMMIT I MISSPELLED SOMETHING IN THE THREAD TITLE AGAIN!

What the hell is wrong with me lately?

And yes, as healthful as kefir is supposed to be it seems like it is all we should eat! I honestly can't imagine how nomads drank it without flavoring. images/smiley_icons/smiley58.gif

That just sounds all sorts of wrong. I prefer to get my nutrition the old-fashioned, natural way.... by taking a multi-vitamin with some diet coke.

Unflavored, unsweetened kefir must be dreadful. Blech.

Y'know, every time I use those hypberbolic adjectives (dreadful, hideous, horrific) a Simon-ized British accent emphasizes the word in my head.

I heard that can make your stomach suddenly explode.

Like one day, even after YEARS of taking your vitamins with Coke, you just EXPLODE and they have to scrape you off the walls.

Uh-oh. That sounds painful. Not quite as painful as attempting to swallow carbonated yogurt, but painful nonetheless.

Would anyone like a wafer-thin mint?

The carbonated yogurt kind of made my ass explode, not my stomach.

Oooooh... sorry Leap...

I have to say though... I don't know what you guys are talking about. When I used to eat kefir it wasn't ever sweetened or flavored or anything, more just like thin slightly funny yogurt. Which, really, I thought was pretty yummy. But then, I'd put it on cereal or whatever, I didn't just chug back mugs of the stuff.

Guess you didn't have ke-fart like Lepus.

I was going to post a pic from Ace Ventura here. I was going to use the one where he spreads his butt cheeks, makes them talk and asks for a breath mint. I couldn't find one though.

But what I found interesting is that when I did a Google Image Search for "talking ass" a lot of pictures of Ann Coulter came up!

I've had it, and I didn't think it was THAT bad... It was kinda good, actually. Sort of.

I have gotten used to it and actually like it now. I have to go to the grocery again today and I think I am going to pick up another bottle.

I have even discovered that I like unsweetened soy milk!

I actually LIKE Kefir and I ain't even a lame pleather Birkenstock wearing, cat owning, tye-dye sportin', androgynous barista!

images/smiley_icons/icon_lol.gif images/smiley_icons/icon_wink.gif Just joking, kids... images/smiley_icons/icon_surprised.gif

I lean toward the flavored ones like Peach, Raspberry, Vanilla, or Strawberry...to me it's like drinking yogurt which actually tastes better than those yog-hurt drinks....

Oh, and it's so awesome for your tummah and your in-TES-tines! images/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif

i haven't tried it but it always sounded good when i happened to read about it in my mom's health magazines. =o)

i know that having a steady supply of yogurt has helped with an unpleasant yeast problem that i seemed to be having around my period.

i wonder if kefir would help with that as well?

I should do a Photoshop!

I don't think I will use my girly bits for the source photo though. I don't like my "haircut" at the moment.
