A few options---To stay in the "system" you have to play by the rules....It isn't supposed to be easy and maybe that is why it appears to "suck."....
I'm assuming when you talk about having to apply for 5 jobs a week to maintain benefits, you are referring to collecting unemployment? You have to apply for them but you don't necessarily have to take one (tricky part might be if you are offered a job...)...Your benefits will continue--you just have to show good faith in trying to find employment because it isn't supposed to be a cakewalk to collect...
As for the medicaid thingy, you have to play by those rules also which stipulate a particular level of income (or lack thereof) to maintain benefits---and have something paid for because of your "something you did one night".....Can I assume this is a temporary situation? Frankly, if you are saying you hate being in it, then I asusme you might be motivated to do what you have to do and get yourself out of the system in the future....In the meantime, the bottom line is: if you want to maintain all of the 'assistance' you need, you have to juggle all of the rules and regs.....Good luck...
